Conversion rate calculator: how many visitors actually act.

Conversion rate is the share of visitors who do the thing the page is for: buy, book, sign up. Enter your visitors and conversions, and the calculator returns the rate, how many conversions a thousand visitors bring, and how much traffic you need for a target.

Your numbers

Sessions or unique visitors over the period.

Purchases, bookings or sign-ups over the same period.

The calculator shows the traffic you need for it.

A page that converts twice as well halves your ad costs.

We build landing pages, checkouts and follow-up as one funnel and improve them with the real numbers. One client converts 30% of visitors and gets $5 back per $1 of ads.

What conversion rate measures

Conversion rate is conversions divided by visitors, as a percentage. It is the efficiency of the page or the funnel: at the same traffic, a page converting at 4% brings twice the results of one at 2%. Because traffic costs money and the page is built once, conversion rate is usually the cheapest lever in the whole system.

What a good conversion rate looks like

Rates vary by what "conversion" means. Purchases on a cold e-commerce visit are often between 1% and 3%; lead forms on a focused landing page can reach 10% and more; a warm audience arriving from an email converts far better than a cold click from an ad. Compare a page with its own past, and with pages that ask for the same thing.

For reference, the digital product funnel in our case studies converts 30% of visitors into buyers, because the page, the offer and the checkout were built for one audience and one action.

How to raise it

  • One page, one action: remove every link and option that is not the conversion.
  • Answer objections on the page (price, delivery, guarantee) instead of hoping people ask.
  • Shorten the form and ask the qualifying questions after the first step, not before.
  • Follow up with the visitors who did not convert; an abandoned form or cart is a warm lead. Our sales funnel service builds the page and that follow-up together.
  • Check the cost side with the cost per lead calculator: a higher conversion rate lowers it directly.

Questions, answered.

How do I calculate conversion rate?

Divide conversions by visitors and multiply by 100. 150 purchases from 5,000 visitors is a 3% conversion rate.

What is a good conversion rate?

It depends on the action and the traffic. Cold e-commerce traffic often converts at 1% to 3%, focused landing pages for leads at 5% to 15%, and warm audiences higher. Compare against your own history first.

Should I use sessions or unique visitors?

Either, as long as you are consistent. Sessions give a lower rate than unique visitors because one person may visit several times before converting.

What counts as a conversion?

Whatever the page is for: a purchase, a booked call, a form submission, a signup. Define it once and measure the same thing over time.

How much traffic do I need for 100 conversions?

Target divided by the conversion rate. At 3%, 100 conversions need 3,333 visitors; at 6%, 1,667. The calculator shows both figures for your numbers.

Why does my conversion rate drop when I scale ads?

Broader audiences bring colder visitors. Expect some decline and judge the campaign on cost per conversion rather than rate alone.
