Hook generator: the first three seconds, ten ways.

The first line decides whether anyone watches the rest. Describe what you sell and who it is for, pick the platform and the tone, and the generator writes ten hooks in ten styles: a question, a bold claim, a number, a story opener, a call-out of the audience and more. Copy the ones that fit, rewrite them in your own words, and test two or three against each other.

How the hook generator works

A hook has one job: to earn the next second. It does not sell, explain or introduce. The generator takes your offer, your audience and the platform, and writes ten openings that each use a different mechanism, because the best hook for a dental clinic is rarely the best one for a software demo. Every hook stays under twelve words, so it fits the first three seconds of a video, the first line of a caption or the headline of an ad.

How to pick and improve a hook

  • Say who it is for in the first line when the audience is narrow: "Dentists in Dubai" beats "Business owners".
  • Match the hook to the placement: on TikTok and Reels the first frame carries the words, in an ad the headline does, in an email the subject line does.
  • Test hooks, not videos: keep the same body and change only the first three seconds. The retention at three seconds tells you which one wins.
  • Numbers work when they are true and specific ("47 minutes", not "a lot of time"). The generator only uses numbers you gave it.
  • Rewrite the winner in your own voice. A hook that sounds like you keeps the promise the rest of the video makes.
  • Keep one contrarian hook in every batch: it is the one people argue with in the comments.

Example

Questions, answered.

Is it free?

Yes. The first run on each generator is free without any signup. After that we ask for a work email, which keeps bots from draining the generators and lets you keep your results. No newsletter.

What is a hook?

The first thing a viewer or reader meets: the first three seconds of a video, the first line of a caption, the headline of an ad. Its only job is to make the next second worth it. A good hook is specific to the audience and promises something the rest delivers.

How long should a hook be?

Under twelve words, so it can be read on a first frame or spoken in under three seconds. Longer openings lose people before the point arrives.

Which platforms does it work for?

TikTok, Reels and Shorts, Facebook and Instagram ads, YouTube videos, LinkedIn posts, landing pages and emails. Pick the placement in the form: the generator adapts the length and the register.

Can it write in French, Spanish, German or Arabic?

Yes. Choose the output language in the form: English, French, Spanish, German, Arabic, Portuguese, Italian or Dutch. The generator writes natively in that language rather than translating an English draft.

What do you do with what I type?

Your inputs go to the AI model that writes the result and come back to your browser; we do not store them. If you save a report, we keep your email with the inputs and results so you can find them again, and nothing else.

Why does it refuse some requests?

It writes marketing copy for a real product or service. It will not invent statistics, testimonials or prices you did not give it, and it declines requests that are deceptive or harmful.
